Google has officially announced that the Quickoffice app, which had been a paid app till now has been made free for all users. This app lets you edit Microsoft Office documents from your smartphone and has been one of the top rated Office apps for both Android and iOS.
Google also announced that the users who login to the Quickoffice app using their Google accounts before September 26, 2013 will get 10GB of additional free storage for 2 years (since its Google, let’s expect some extensions or exceptions). Though the statement specifies Google Drive storage, the same may be used for any other Google service.
To get the free 10 GB from Google:
- Download and install the free Quickoffice app from Google Play (Android) or App Store (iOS).
- Sign in to the app using your Google account.
- Enjoy the free 10GB storage! It might take a week or more for the extra space to be added to your account, as per the official announcement.
